Our 2nd Annual Festival of Hope, also referred to as "FoH2," is a 2-day festival featuring a variety of elements to engage and inform our community. We will strive to create a positive atmosphere filled with breath-taking street murals created by professional and volunteer artists. Free live concerts will fill the air with exhilarating music. Diverse performances will occur featuring beautiful cultural music and dancing. Local resources will be present to provide information about services that can transform lives. Through these activities we will bring hope to those in our community who have lost it and put resources into the hands of people who need them. All activities are free and everyone is encouraged to participate in the creation of sidewalk chalk murals.
FoH2 welcomes back three professional street painters to our 2011 event. Each painter will produce a 12' x 12' mural using chalk pastels over the two-day event. These beautiful pieces of transitory artwork will inspire hope to those who come and view them. Please visit each artist's website to learn more about them and their past creations.
The FoH is open to community participation. You can become a part of our two-day event by joining us as either an individual, or form a team. If you register, at no cost, we'll save a square for you, and provide the chalk pastels. This can be your first time using pastels, or you can be an accomplished muralist, either way we'll welcome you to create your own piece with themes of hope and encouragement.

A primary goal of the Festival of Hope is to provide access to a wide range of resources and services in one convenient location, in the heart of the events. Resource booths will flank the chalk mural area to increase interaction and service availability. Boths will provide information and linkage to services that will help increase well being, and therefore reduce stressors associated with suicide risk. Ideally, services represented will include emotional, behavioral, and mental health, physical health, drug & alcohol recovery, spirituality, physical health, financial assistance, veterans, expecting mothers, and a variety of other vital services. Food, beverage, and snack vending is prohibited.
