Suicide Prevention Basics
This training provides a basic level of education and introduction to suicide prevention. Information is focused on the Tulare County Suicide Prevention Task Force includingf the activities, programs, and initiatives of the task force, up-to-date information on suicide in Tulare County, an overview of broadly available resources to turn for help, as well as plenty of opportunity for questions and interaction.
After this training, participants should be able to: 1. Identify basic signs & symptoms of suicide risk, 2. Have knowledge of suicide statistics at the local, state, and national level, 3. Know suicide prevention resources, 4. Be aware of local suicide prevention efforts.

Duration: Flexible, training has been provided in from 15 minutes to 2 hours, and can be expanded or tailored to meet specific needs.

Target Audience: Any (this training has been presented to the Visalia Lions Club, the Visalia Breakfast Rotary, Grace Community Church, Tulare Association of Churches, Central Valley Recovery Services, Tulare and Kings Counties PFLAG, as well as other groups).
